As a biomedical and molecular researcher, my primary focus is on understanding the role of immunity in obesity-associated diabetes, with broader interests in human anatomy, histology, and medical education. I hold a PhD from the University of Toronto (UofT), Canada, where I currently teach anatomy in the medicine (MD) and dentistry (DDS) programs. Additionally, I serve as the Executive Director and lead mentor at the Center for Biomedical Research and Training (CBRT).
I have authored over 15 articles in high-impact, indexed journals and secured more than $150,000 in competitive grants, awards, and scholarships. With over 15 years of experience in medical teaching, biomedical research, and clinical practice, I bring a comprehensive skill set to these fields.
As an educator, I am committed to fostering a learner-centered environment that emphasizes the practical application of knowledge. I have a strong track record of building meaningful relationships with students, faculty, and administrators. My extensive teaching experience across diverse institutions and global settings enables me to create inclusive, collaborative learning environments. Through my research and teaching, I aim to advance medical knowledge and contribute to improving patient care standards.
