Teaching

In my current teaching role, I primarily facilitate anatomy lab and tutorial sessions in the medical school at the University of Toronto, Canada. I am a recipient of the 2022-23 “Teaching Excellence Award” for exemplifying excellence in undergraduate medical education (MD program) at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada. Prior to that, during my graduate education at Queen’s University, I had a variety of teaching opportunities in my role as an instructor and teaching assistant. Though anatomy has been the major focus of my teaching, I also have tutored some other health and biomedical courses. I began teaching anatomy as a lecturer soon after graduating from medical school and clinical residency. From 2006 to 2017, I taught anatomy and physiology at several medical schools in different countries as a regular academic faculty. Moreover, as a member of the medical education unit, I worked closely in curriculum and assessment design. I believe my graduate education and molecular research experiences helped in expanding my critical analysis and reasoning skills. In addition, my background in clinical medicine has enabled me to relate the foundations of anatomy to functional applications in medical practice. I enjoy teaching and look forward to developing my skills further as I pursue my academic career.
